Precision Bearing Replacement Case
When Sales Stop but Maintenance Must Continue
Customized Bearing Replacement Solutions for Installed International-Brand Machine Tools

Market Background
Market Changes and Equipment Maintenance
Market Changes and Equipment Maintenance Challenges
As international brands adjust their production plans and sales strategies, and as the global supply environment changes, some precision machine tools from brands such as Mazak have been withdrawn from or reduced in the Chinese market. However, a large installed base of these machines remains in long-term operation and continues to require maintenance, repair, and replacement of critical components.
The long-term maintenance pressure on the installed equipment base is even more significant. Many of these machines, introduced over the past several decades, are used in critical production processes and must maintain high-precision operation. As OEM sales activity contracts, supporting services and spare-parts availability may also weaken, resulting in longer repair lead times, price fluctuations, or even supply interruptions. To maintain production continuity, users increasingly rely on advance stocking, third-party repair services, or validated domestic replacement components, substantially increasing both operational complexity and cost.
02 · Core Challenge
The Critical Role of Precision Bearings and Challenges in OEM Parts Supply
Precision bearings are core functional elements in machine-tool spindles, rotary tables, and feed systems. Their rotational accuracy, rigidity, and dynamic characteristics directly determine machining quality, long-term stability, and service life. Once bearing performance deviates from its required condition, machine positioning accuracy and surface finish can deteriorate rapidly, potentially leading to cascading failures. Bearing reliability and integrity are therefore among the primary concerns in machine-tool condition management.
When original bearings wear or fail due to prolonged loading or unexpected faults, customers often face multiple practical challenges: OEM spare-parts channels become increasingly limited, delivery times become difficult to predict, procurement costs rise significantly, and in some cases the required bearing designation may have been discontinued. These obstacles not only prolong machine downtime but can also disrupt production schedules, increasing both maintenance burden and operating pressure.
Critical Role of Precision Bearings
Rotational accuracy, rigidity and dynamic performance influence the complete machine.
Multiple Supply Bottlenecks
Restricted channels, uncertain lead times, higher costs and discontinued models.
Rising Maintenance Pressure
Extended downtime disrupts production schedules and makes replacement strategies essential.
03 · Emerging Customer Demand
Emerging Customer Demand
Faced with these practical challenges, many machine-tool users are no longer relying solely on traditional OEM procurement channels. Instead, they are actively seeking more flexible and responsive maintenance solutions. Customers increasingly recognize that passive waiting not only extends machine downtime but can also disrupt overall production schedules, resulting in delayed orders and reputational losses. As a result, they are turning to technically capable third-party service providers to restore equipment operation as quickly as possible through bearing reconditioning or replacement.
In response to this urgent demand, we have seen a clear increase in customers consulting us about precision-bearing reconditioning and replacement solutions. Their expectations extend beyond restoring accuracy and service life to levels comparable with the original bearing. They also place strong emphasis on solution stability and reliability, while requiring controllable overall cost, predictable delivery times, and sustainable long-term maintenance value.
04 · Our Solution
Our Solution: Professional Technical Assessment and Multi-Dimensional Service Capability
Systematic failure diagnosis based on the machine-tool model, installation position, original bearing structure, operating parameters, and actual working conditions.
Technical Assessment
Multi-Dimensional Technical Assessment
When a customer requests precision-bearing reconditioning or replacement, our technical team immediately initiates a professional assessment process. We systematically collect the machine-tool model, bearing installation position (such as the spindle, rotary table, or feed screw end), and the structural type and dimensional parameters of the original bearing. These are evaluated together with operating data such as long-term running speed, load characteristics, and cutting forces, as well as site-specific conditions including ambient temperature, lubrication method, and vibration spectrum.
This multi-dimensional comparison and failure analysis enables us not only to identify bearing damage modes accurately—such as fatigue pitting, wear, cracking, or cage fracture—but also to trace the root cause, ensuring that the subsequent technical solution is appropriately targeted and effective.

Tailored Service
Flexible Service Options
Based on the assessment results, we provide tiered and customizable service options. Bearings with relatively minor damage can be restored to their original accuracy through processes such as precision grinding, superfinishing, or surface-coating repair. Where the original bearing designation remains commercially available, we can provide compatible replacement products. For discontinued or non-standard bearings, we perform reverse engineering, dimensional mapping, and parameter optimization, followed by single-unit or small-batch customized production.
Throughout the process, we provide inspection data before and after reconditioning, quality certificates, and technical guidance for installation and commissioning. This makes each stage transparent and controllable, supports rapid return to production, and reduces uncertainty in long-term maintenance.

05 · Replacement Product Development
Development Logic for Replacement Products and Examples of Customized Bearings
In developing replacement products, our technical principle goes far beyond simple dimensional substitution. The objective is to reproduce the full operating performance of the original bearing under actual service conditions. In addition to accurately matching the external dimensions and mounting interfaces—including bore diameter, outside diameter, width, chamfers, and flange mating surfaces—our design team systematically evaluates critical parameters such as the rated speed range of the spindle or feed system, dynamic and static load capacity, overall rigidity, rotational accuracy class (such as P4 or P2), preload setting, and lubrication method (grease, oil mist, or oil-air lubrication).
Through bearing performance analysis, we ensure that the replacement bearing can maintain service performance comparable to the original component under the combined effects of high-speed centrifugal forces, thermal expansion, and cutting loads. At the same time, we minimize the need for secondary machining or modification of the machine tool's existing internal and external structures and cooling system, thereby reducing retrofit risk and implementation time. The figures show examples of bearings customized and manufactured for our customers. (Figures 1–6)
Multi-Dimensional Performance-Equivalent Design
Speed, load, rigidity, accuracy, preload, and lubrication are evaluated comprehensively to reproduce the operating characteristics of the original bearing.
Minimum-Modification Principle
External dimensions and interfaces are matched precisely to avoid additional machining or modification of the machine tool itself.
Customized Production and Performance Verification
Reverse engineering, parameter optimization, and small-batch customization are provided to ensure that replacement bearings meet performance requirements while maintaining efficient delivery.
